About IQ Apps Group
The company
IQ Apps Group is a UK app studio run by Rob. We make practical apps for real-life challenges: focused tools that do one job well and collect as little personal data as possible.
We started with grassroots sport, because that's where Rob spends his weekends. Picking a fair team, keeping playing time even, helping a player who's lost confidence and running a festival day usually happen on scraps of paper and in group chats. Our apps replace that with something quick and fair. The same approach now goes into a padel night with friends and GCSE revision at home.
About Rob
Rob is a grassroots football coach in the Midlands. He works alongside other grassroots coaches at different levels, and many of our ideas come straight from what they need on a Saturday morning. He decides what every app does and signs off every release.
How Rob builds
Rob builds with AI coding tools, and Grok Bot is his AI assistant team. He decides what each app should do, briefs the tools, tests the results himself and approves every release. Separate AI reviewers check each change independently, and nothing goes live without his yes. We've put real time into working with AI tools and engineering our apps with care.
Each app starts as a web app, so people can use it in a browser straight away. The same code becomes the iPhone app through Capacitor, built in the cloud with Codemagic. IQ Team Sheet Planner already runs on the web, and its iPhone app is with Apple for review. Full process: How we build.
